From your doorstep, bike past the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fountain. Continue south through two beautiful parks. It’s only a few hundred feet down from Brookside Boulevard to get to the start of the Brush Creek Trail. As the trail winds along the creek, watch for birds and animals that come to drink from the water. Be sure to stop to look at a stunning waterfall along the way. The entire trail is below street level, so you’ll avoid traffic completely. Most of the trail goes through well-maintained parks, so the views are very nice as well. An overlook at the end of the trail is the perfect way to end your ride.
If biking isn’t your thing, walk the trail during September 16th – 18th this year to see the Brush Creek Art Walk. Watch artists as they paint in a beautiful location. A juror selects the best paintings for display in an exhibit downtown. It’s amazing to see these incredible artists at work, so bring a friend and enjoy a walk here as the weather starts to cool down.
